Our game-based Web portal, ThinkZone, is an innovative systemic approach to digital game-based learning (DGBL) implementation that meets the disparate needs of all stakeholders in the education system. ThinkZone provides:
- K-8 students with carefully curated, engaging, standards-aligned educational content
- K-8 teachers critical professional development in DGBL and a means to easily assign, track, and document students’ progress in core competencies
- EdTech developers a distribution channel to bring their impactful games to market, and
- Schools and districts an easy-to-use single portal to curated DGBL to support 21st-century learning goals.
The project team has built the first prototype of ThinkZone (see video at http://www.thinkzonegames.com/demo) to establish feasibility and usability, and we are currently working to complete the R&D and prepare the intervention for further beta testing and public release.
